Marketing is managed by Giovanna Battiston who is a freelance marketing
trainer and consultant specialising in English language communications
for business.
Before moving into training and consultancy, Giovanna was head
of marketing for a national, independent HR consultancy that provided
innovative people management solutions to firms such as Orange,
Alliance and Leicester, Boots The Chemists, AMP Bank and Trinity
Mirror Group. During her time with the company, turnover increased
from 1.5m to 4.5m and she set up and developed a marketing department
which became a highly respected unit.
Giovanna moved into sales and marketing from the publishing sector,
where she started her career as a project editor working within
the publishing department of the Thomas Cook Group. Here, she was
part of the product development team responsible for launching a
new series of travel guides and for publishing and promoting spin-off
editions of the well-known Thomas Cook European timetable.
Giovanna, who holds a PGCE to teach in the post-compulsory sector,
is currently an associate lecturer in marketing at Sheffield Hallam
University and supports students working towards their Chartered
Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional qualifications. From 2006
to 2009 she was Chair of the South Yorkshire branch of the CIM and
a member of the Yorkshire and North-East regional board and from
January 2010 she will be Regional Chair for Yorkshire and the North
East. Giovanna holds an MSc in Marketing and the CIM post-graduate
diploma (DipM) in marketing. |
